TranscenDANCE is a state-wide celebration of movement, connection and possibility. It’s built on one simple belief: dance belongs to everyone. Across four vibrant days, the festival brings together artists, students, teachers, community and audiences to share in performances, workshops, conversations and collective experiences.
At its heart, TranscenDANCE is about connection: between people, disciplines, cultures and opportunities. The festival invites dancers, makers, teachers, students, community and audiences to participate in a rich program of performances, workshops, conversations and encounters that reflect the diversity of contemporary dance practice. Whether discovering dance for the first time or deepening an existing pathway, participants are encouraged to explore, express and imagine what movement can be.
Attendees leave feeling inspired, connected and expanded, having learned something new, met someone meaningful and experienced dance as a living, evolving force. TranscenDANCE honours the love of movement while opening doors to growth, sustainability and future possibility within the dance ecosystem.
TranscenDANCE will activate two of Brisbane's iconic dance hubs: Mad Dance House & The Thomas Dixon Centre
